Abstract

Starting from the current interpretation and the morpho-syntactic typology of relative clauses, their relation to the main clause, and the analysis of the possible features of the clauses, I would like to give in this work a historical outline of the status of the relative clauses, focusing on their classification in selected grammars of the 19th century.
